Mini summer Camps 2010

United Dance will be directing week long 3 hour evening intensive study of different disciplines of dance each week of the summer.  Come join us for fun and technical study of our favoarite types of dance we offer. 

Monday through Friday 5:30pm-8:30pm
Cost-----$60.00 per child
Deposit-----$30.00

Camp #1: June 7-11- Ballet & Lyrical Boot Camp (ages 7-11yrs)
Camp #2: June 14-18- Ballet & Lyrical Boot Camp (ages 12-18yrs)
Camp #3: June 21-25- Tap & Clogging Boot Camp (ages 7-11yrs)
Camp #4: June 28-July 2- Tap & Clogging Boot Camp (ages 12-18yrs)
Camp #5: July 5-July 9-Jazz, Hiphop, Musical Theater Boot Camp (7-11yrs)
Camp #6: July 12-July 16-Jazz, Hiphop, Musical Theater Boot Camp (12-18yrs)
Camp #7: July 19-July 23-Acrobatics Boot Camp (ages 7-11yrs)
Camp #8: July 26-July 30- Acrobatics Boot camp (ages 12-18yrs)

 DANCE CAMP 2010

United Dance will be directing a dance camp this summer for your child's enjoyment & enjoyment & enrichment.  Participants will experience full days consisting of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acrobatics, Drill Team, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater, Movies, games, arts & crafts, field trips, etc.  This is an exciting alternative to traditional day care and ordinary summer camps.  Bring your child for the fun and content.

Monday through Friday-----8:30am-4:30pm
Cost-----$100.00 per session week per child
Deposit-------$50.00 (limited space, due by July 3)
United Dance will provide morning & afternoon refreshments.  Children should bring a sack lunch.

Camp #1:     July 12-16    (4-6 yr olds) Studio 1
                                            (7-9 yr olds ) Studio 2

Camp #2:     July 19-23          (7-11yr olds) Studio 1
                                                  (12-18 yr olds) all levels Studio 2
To drop off child 1 hour earlier (7:30) or pick up 1 hour later (5:30pm) add $5.00 per hour per day.

ACROBATIC CAMP 2010

United Dance will be directing an intensive acrobatic camp, teaching basic & advanced fundamentals of tumbling, for all ages.  Camp will be held at United Dance.  Snacks will be provided.

Monday through Friday 8:30an-12:30pm
Cost: $70.00 per child
Deposit: $35.00 (limited space, due by July 6)
July 26-30 2010
Group #1 (ages 4-6 yrs)
Group #2 (ages 7-11 yrs)
Group #3 (ages 12-18 yrs)

 ****Also note another policy:
Any child that is between the ages of 3-11yrs will not be released out of the classroom after class without their parent.
(Please pick up your child in the classroom)

 ******If you are participating in recital, you may only miss 6 classes from January - May 2009.  Please be aware of your attendance.

During the year, there are many opportunities for parents to observe their children in class.  These dates will be listed in the newsletter as well as posted at the dance center in the lobby. The following are rules for parents for that week:
*Please be respectful of your children, other students and dance teachers by: 1) Turning off your cell phone.  2) Do not talk during class.  3) Do not allow siblings to run through the classroom.  They must sit with the parent for the duration of class.

UNITED DANCE POLICIES
* Our price list is for each individual student.  There is and $11 registration fee per year per student.
* Tuition is due the first day of the month your class is offered.
* A late fee of $5 will be assessed to clients who pay their tuition late 20 days past due.
* There will be a $16 return check fee for checks that are returned to us from the bank
* Once a student is enrolled and has taken a single class, there will be no refunds issued for any   reason.
* If a student wishes to discontinue a class they must call or write the studio to let us know that they are dropping the class.  Please note if you don't you will be charged for that month.
* The monthly rate remains the same whether it is a long (5 week) or short (3 week) month.  It remains the same regardless of absences or holidays. It is never prorated.
* United Dance will terminate clients enrollment if tuition is 40 days past due.
* Missed classes may be made up within the month.
* Any child that is between the ages of 3-11 yrs old will not be released form the classroom without a parent present.
*If for any reason you drop enrollment in the middle of a month, you will be charged a $11 registration fee when you return.

UNITED DANCE CLASSROOM RULES
1. All students must wear dancewear!  Street clothes are not allowed.  If you wear a t-shirt, please wear a sports bra under your shirt.  We do not want to see your private parts.
2.  Underwear should not be worn under leotards.  We do not want to see your underwear.  Gross!  Do you wear underwear under your swimsuit?
3.  Hair must be pulled back and out of your face.  Your arms are used for dancing, not for pulling hair out of your face!!!!!
4.  No hoop or dangling earrings are allowed in class.  You may wear post earrings only.  Do not wear necklaces or bracelets.
5.  No gum, food, or soda is allowed in the classroom.  Water bottles only.
6.  Put your name in your dance shoes and use a dance bag to keep your shoes and personal items in.  Please do not wear your dance shoes on the street.
7.  No cell phones, Ipods or any other kind of electronic device should ever be used during class.  If you must bring them please turn them off and store them in your dance bag until class has ended.
8.  Be courteous to everyone.  Treat your teachers and fellow classmates like you want to be treated.
9.LEAVE BAD ATTITUDES AT THE DOOR.
10. HAVE FUN!!!!!

*United Dance will be marching in the Brookside St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 13th @ 2:00 p.m.  Only students that are currently on a competition team are eligible to participate.  Please sign up at the front desk by March 1st.  *******Requirements are listed below*******

1.  Must be on a competition team
2.  Must be able to attend practice on March 6th from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the studio. 
3.  Must have a United Dance warm up suit.

*If you would like to purchase a recital t-shirt, the order forms and sample will be at the desk soon.

*We are starting to receive costumes for recital.  There will be NO exchanges or refunds for costumes for any reason.

*Dance camp information is available at the front desk.

*Summer evening class information will be available soon.

*If you are not participating in recital, your dance season will end on April 30th.

*This year, Cinematic Vision will be professionally videotaping our recital.  For your convenience, they will provide a 2-DVD set (one disc will be close-ups and the 2nd disc will be a wide angle view of the same performance) and all DVD's will include Menus and Chapter Selections!  Orders are accepted online or by check payable to Cinematic Visions.  The 2-DVD Set is $30 which includes tax.  Order forms are available at the desk.

*Please check the wall for a list of dance participants and check to make sure that your child's name is spelled correctly and that they are listed in all of the numbers they are performing in.  Make corrections on those sheets.

*Stop by the front desk to sign up on our email destribution list to receive updates, registration info and news about our studio.

****Make up classes for snow day Feb 21st. are as followed:  Feb 28th, and Mar 7 4:00-6:00pm for Competition Hip Hop class, and Mar 14th 2:00-4:00pm for Adult Hip Hop*****

DATES TO REMEMBER

***All competition students you can only miss 6 classes and remain on a competition team.  You will be advised when you have missed 6 classes. 

Parents please mark all of your dancers shoes with their name.  We are finding a lot of lost shoes in the studio.

****Snow/Ice Policy: United Dance will close if the following conditions occur:
     1.  Ice Covered Roads
     2.  Sleet
     3.  4 inches or more of snow
